Christmas time, it's Christmas time
Mistletoe season has arrived, so we better get ourselves ready. Never mind the traffic, the rush, this only comes once a year. This time, I am planning to have fruit salad, grilled chicken, loaves, and lots of fruits! I'll stay away from too much carbo this time (crossing my fingers not to have any--no pasta please.) We're looking forward to a few days' vacation so we can bring Tea to the mall or even a cozy family outing, perhaps Tagaytay. I just hope King Sun would be kind enough that day; also Mr. Wind so Tea can fly a kite. But as the true meaning of the season is Him, let's not forget our obligation to our fellowmen, especially the less fortunate. We can make their Christmas somehow better by sharing our blessings with them. A few weeks ago, Tea chose some toys she's no longer playing with and we donated them. I know they will bring smile to other children. I am wishing that we will have a peaceful holiday season, not only in our country but the whole world. Know the song My Grownup Christmas List? That's my favorite Christmas song. Every time I hear it, the message of the song gives me a goose bump. It's very moving. For those who are not familiar with the song, I would like to share you the lyrics.
Do you remember me
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies.
Well, I'm all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I'm not a child
But my heart still can dream
So here's my lifelong wish
My grown up Christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need.
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list.
As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree.
Well heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul.
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list.
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth
(there'd be).
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown up Christmas list
There you go. I'll be back blogging, some time this week. Have a happy week!
