Daddy's Little Girl
I loved mothering you, you're my first born,
I found myself delving into the mystery of our likeness;
I saw my face in your face when I was your age,
I rejoiced in your birth, the first time you looked at me minutes after you saw the first light;
In the early months of your life, as I rocked and nursed you in the middle of the night
I watched the moon rise above a towering tree through the window in our room,
I thought about the moves you're about to make out of my protecting arms and into a large world,
I silently wove my wishes for you to make this passage in life securely and to embark on your adventure with zest and confidence.
You rejuvenate my spirit,
You relieve my burdens,
You made me love more than ever thought possible
You made me angry, but that does not made me love you less.
You remind me that I have a purpose,
You made me want to be a better mom.
A few days from now you will be three
I cannot believe how fast time can be.
I love you, Tea. Having you is far greater than all the world's riches thought of.
Happy Birthday.
Love,
Mommy
You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
A ray of hope, a shining star.
You're the brightest of the sunshine
Morning's first light
You warm my day, you brighten my night
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice,
And you're daddy's little girl.
You're the end of the rainbow, my pot of gold,
You're daddy's little girl to have and hold.
A precious gem is what you are,
A ray of hope, a shining star.
You're the brightest of the sunshine
Morning's first light
You warm my day, you brighten my night
You're sugar you're spice, you're everything nice,
And you're daddy's little girl.
